This afternoon, the tri-state area is expected to get 8-12 inches of snow. This is on top of the 4-6 inches we got only a few days ago (Thursday). We ended up having to work until the end of the day -- the snow had started two hours earlier, and my usual 35-minute commute took well over two hours. The next morning, I was leaving my office parking lot when I slipped and fell on a patch of snow/ice -- mind you, the lot is across the street from an elementary school, and I have heard the kids heckle other people for falling; a few weeks ago a man fell off his bike and the catcalls started immediately. Anyway, I was able to avoid that because I got in very early and not many children had arrived yet. Since my knees are still bothering me from the fall, it dawned on me that at my current weight, I may not be able to sustain too many more spills like this.
So, I'm praying that I am dismissed early. I'd rather sleep here overnight than be trapped on the highway!
Oh, also forgot -- I had to buy new exercise pants over the weekend -- the old 22/24 I had finally gave out in the thigh area. Before my husband and I went to the movies, I drove by The Avenue to buy another pair. Out of habit, I pulled out a 30/32. The cashier looked at me and said, "I think these pants may be too large for you. Can I get you a 26/28 instead?" I said OK, paid and left. I haven't tried them on yet, but for $34.99, they better fit!
